Back again

It's summertime so I'm not on here as much. Been having a fun and busy summer. So many things to do. At church I recently received my 3rd calling. Now this is interesting in that when we first moved to this area 6 yrs ago, our former bishop told us he doesn't like to give more than 1 calling per person. He wants to make sure you do the one you have, correct. We have a new bishop now of the past yr. He's nice, but things have changed. 1 yr ago I was asked to do the ward bulletin(program) for each week. No problem. Then last Dec I was asked to take care of the ward calendar since it kind of goes with the bulletin(that's where I find a lot of the announcements). Just a few weeks ago I was asked to be the ward music chair and chorister in sacrament. This means I choose the songs for Sacrament, get special music going, and coordinate with the choir. So not only do I have homeschooling happening, but have church stuff. Guess I definitely won't be bored.

Happy Independence Day!!

You probably noticed I didn't say Happy 4th of July. I feel the real reason for this holiday is not being talked about. We need to remember that we became independent of England and became our own country. Now adays this is something a LOT of people have forgotten. So please make sure we remind ourselves and our friends of the real reason we celebrate this holiday.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Father's Day to my father figures and yours

My dad isn't around anymore. He passed away Dec., 31, '07. He was a good man and a good father. I remember riding horses with him while I was young and still living at home. We'd go for walks early in the morning(yes, even in the winter) and walk and walk and walk. He used to take our family to rodeos all the time. Loved going to them . Miss them and miss him taking me to them. But most of all, I just plain miss him and his hugs. Happy Father's Day, Dad.

Now, instead of being sad over that, I'll end with having a father to my children. My dh and I have been married 21 yrs and have 3 wonderful children. He's a good father and good provider. Works hard long hours(literally) and is exhausted most nights. But when he's with us, we are loved. Happy Father's Day to my husband!

Thunderstorm

What a thunderstorm we had last night. We had a platter full of flowers to be planted(dh is our gardening person and hasn't had time to plant them) and I think they are all destroyed. Maybe not, but we won't find out until a few days when they are dried.

Thunderstorm brought both girls in our bed. From 11pm till 6am thunder and lightening. Oh what fun. Then for it to be muggy and my oldest who literally hides under the covers, is half covering me and she is sweating. Finally got her settled, but not before it was too late. I'll probably be giving myself a nap today, or at least I hope. Poor dh was already tired from a long day at work, now not much sleep at night.
