The past weekend was good. Dh and I finished the last set of shelves in the garage. Now we're a bit more organized. We also have several bikes hanging from the ceiling and other things put away. We also threw out stuff that's been hiding in places and things that were just sitting there. It's nice to have that done.
We also got to hear from our missionary son on Fri via email. I love Fri since we hear from him then. Always nice to know what he's been doing and who his new friends are. He's doing so good with ASL and even helping to interpret for one of the elders who is deaf. He'll be leaving for Houston in about 3 1/2 weeks. I think he's starting to realize that and is getting a bit nervous. He'll be ok though.
My youngest got to start her last session of swimming lessons this week. She did very well. Floated on her back and front on her own. Great job! Her big sister has been a great help in keeping her occupied. She willingly plays with her and keeps her company. What a great girl.

My weekly email from my missionary
I just received my weekly email from my son. He's doing better this week other than just being completely bored! He has to sit in a classroom for most of the day learning sign language and only speaking it. Fun at first, but now he's just anxious to get going to Houston.
I need to think of some things to send him to keep him occupied on his days off. Today the girls and I sent him and his companion some flexible paper dolls that look like missionaries. Just something silly to give to him.
He sounds good and doing well. I'm looking forward to his next set of photos at the end of this month. It's always good to see his smiling face to know he's ok.
My girls are doing ok now. My youngest was really struggling at night for awhile. Tears of missing her brother, so I finally decided it was time to start a siblings of missionary penpal list. I've discovered many other children who are missing their older brothers and need to talk with someone about it. I hope the group goes well.

A little frustrated right now
Nothing horrible, but some things I wanted to do, I'm struggling with how to do them. Ds wants me to post some photos on his blog(he uses word press) and I can't figure out how to add them. Eventually I'll find out how. I'm just not a patient person sometimes.

A good day
The days are mostly getting better. Thur evening we dropped off my oldest dd at the church for a youth conference until Sat afternoon. Then dh and I took youngest dd shopping and home. Watched a movie until 10. All of us are tired.
This morning I figured she would sleep until at least 9, but was up around 8. We had a quiet morning, then around 11 took her for her swim lessons. She loves them! I'm very glad because she needs them. Came home for lunch, then went off to see if we could find her some sunday shoes. Nothing. Of course we really didn't look too hard. Then bought her and I a McFlurry as a treat.
Oh it rained a bit today. Just enough to make small puddles on our driveway. Grateful for it, but could use a whole lot more.
Got my weekly email from my missionary. Seems lots of people heard his plea for letters because he got a ton. I'm glad because he needs them to pass the time until he leaves for Houston. He sounded good and was able to greet one of his ym friends from church around dinner time. He tried to find him to pick him up on greeting day, but his timing was off. Oh well at least he got to visit.
Right now dd and dh are upstairs. Dh is keeping dd company while she hopefully goes to sleep. Big sister comes home tomorrow so it will be back to regular bedtime routine.

Missing him
I miss my boy. He's been gone 4 weeks in the MTC and it feels like yrs. I know he needs to be there to learn to grow and serve, but right now I just wish his presence was in the house. Guess I need to pray. Thank goodness for my girls.

Heard from my son
I received my weekly email today. He sounded like he's still enjoying the spirit, but I sense he getting a bit tired. He mentioned that he has fallen asleep while reading his scriptures. That's something I do often while just reading anything. hee hee
Anyway, he's doing well and wants us to write more often. Apparently his companion's girlfriend sends his letters every day and sometimes several a day. I guess he's a bit jealous and wants letters. Guess we'd better get busy and write.

2 1/2 weeks...
since he's been in the MTC. Seems like forever and yet not. I've been trying to keep myself busy and not dwell on him too much. It's starting to work at times. I know he's where he's supposed to be at this time, but it's hard not to have him around. He was around us for 19yrs and so this part of him being gone takes getting used to.
I know he's making new friends and becoming better acquainted with the scriptures and God. He's got such a great spirit and good attitude. I look forward to the time he's in Houston teaching the people and for the reports of how things are going.
In the meantime we are back to normal routine of me trying to figure out daily menus, how to keep my house from being over run by play time with my girls. Also, trying to figure out what to do with my hs group. I sense the group wants change, but I'm not sure if I want to head that way or not. Oh well, time will tell.
