Since I'm sitting here bored

I thought I'd fill you in on Tues activities. lol I was going to try last night to post, but just didn't feel up to it.

So my Tues morning started with me taking dh to work. Now, the kids don't have their art and gym classes because the semester has ended till Jan. But ds R had a class of some kind at church that night and since dh is on call and might end up staying late to work, I figured it best to have the car just in case. And, it was almost the case. I'll tell you more detail when I get to that point lol.

So we head outside and it's 0 degrees. Yes, I said 0! So we bundled up and tried to stay warm while the heater warmed up. We could hear the ice cracking in the car as we drove along. The other day it rained and then the following evening it froze so now we have ice in the car cracks that is cracking as we drive. Kind of irritating, but not much you can do.

Arrived at dh's work and headed home. Once home I see that dd S is awake and upon further discussion, that other dd is awake thanks to dd S. That's good because it's 8 and we need to get our morning going. As I'm getting dd N and myself some hot chocolate, ds R decides he's going to put up the tree before the devotional. I had told him that if dh wasn't up to doing the tree for family night, I would have him do it the next day. So he opened the box and got started. I ended up helping a bit as well. No problem though. At least now it is up.

We eventually had our devotional and then I told the kids that as long as they played nicely, they could play for the morning. I had some cookies and such to get backing. I'm about 2 weeks behind in my baking. But I've decided that I'm not going to panic because the season is not about cookies or candies or such, it's about a young babe who was born in a lowly stable ready to save the world when he grows up.

So, the girls do their thing and ds R continues decorating the tree. BIG help since I was trying to figure out how to do cookies and decorate and anything else that would come my way. So with A LOT of his help we got 2 things done and neither of us stressed about it.

Later on after lunch I received a phone call from a friend at work. She needed a ride home, but her dh was still doing tests at school. I told her I did have the car and could take her home. She's 5 months preg with her first child and is having some minor complications. So she's only allowed to work 4hrs a day instead of 8 or 10. Successfully completed that and then headed home.

3 pm comes and I call dh to see if he's ready yet. He wanted to leave for home a bit early since we were expecting a bit of snow to come. Unfortunately he got saddled into a meeting and some other stuff so we didn't end up getting him until 4:30, normal time. The roads weren't too bad, but the mild wind was blowing the snow over the roads. Thankfully it was dry snow and most of the roads were just fine.

Arrived home and had dinner. Prepared ourselves to head out to church. The road wasn't too bad, but there was about an inch of snow already. However, the way some people drove you would have thought there was an inch of ice. Thankfully we made it just in time. Ds R did his class and I did my sign language.

Left for home around 8:30 and after driving pretty slow(snow was now about 2 inches and a bit slippery in places) we arrive home safe and sound. Let the kids read for a bit, then 9:30 put them to bed. Ahh a nice quiet evening with just dh and I. :)

I don't particularly like driving in it either. And yes, those crazies who either drive too fast, or waaaay too slow. lol

Snow is a 4-letter word in our house....makes it hard for us to do our business and make money.

... I can imagine. I'm just glad I don't have to shovel it anymore. Dh showed ds last night how to use the snow blower. :)
